I have a peculiar problem on my pc, that crops up again and again. Whenever i want to type anything, be it on notepad, word, excel or on the browser address bar, this sign is generated constantly and at times at a very high speed [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[.
As a result, i am not able to type anything. Restarting the pc solves the problem sometimes.
Is this a software malfunctioning or a h/w problem? I had formatted my hd but this did not solve the problem.
Reinstalling the operating system sometimes halts this problem for some time, but it recurs again.
I had updated my pc BIOS some days ago to stop blue screen error.
Now, i dont have blue screens but this typing nightmare [[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[[, as a result of which i cannot type anything.
Kindly help me if you can.

Hello Santanu

This is most likely caused by the keyboard, either the key is stuck or the keyboard is messed up all together.

To check and see if it is the key board boot in to windows and then unplug your keyboard. Next with your mouse click on start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Ease of Access --> On-screen Keyboard. Then try to type something with the on-screen keyboard and see if it does it there.
